Review & Recipes: Skinnygirl Fresh Hummus

Bethenny has done it again with the launch of Skinnygirl Fresh!

The hummus, made with non-fat Greek yogurt and chickpeas as the base, comes in 4 different delicious variations under 50 calories per serving.

Here are some recipes I made using the new Skinnygirl Hummus. And for good fun, I've paired each recipe with an offering from Skinnygirl Cocktails!

Skinnygirl Roasted Red Pepper Hummus tastes delicious on pita chips, WheatThins, or your favorite crackers or vegetables. Any choice from Skinnygirl: The Wine Collection would be a great pairing for snacking with Skinnygirl Roasted Red Pepper Hummus!

I used the delicious Skinnygirl Cilantro JalapeƱo Hummus to make my semi-raw zucchini noodles with Thai peanut sauce. A Skinnygirl Cucumber Vodka drink would be delicious with this spicy dish!

Skinnygirl Roasted Garlic Hummus goes great on a pita or tortilla wrap with some fresh-sliced avocado, red onion, and spring mix greens. The Skinnygirl Mojito would be great with this tangy treat!

Anything would taste better with Skinnygirl Classic Hummus, and I was happy to heat up some mushrooms, pinto beans, kidney beans, and onions in a skillet. Then you can throw everything in a tortilla or taco shell and top with Skinnygirl Classic Hummus for a creamy addition to this healthy meal. Pair with the original Skinnygirl Margarita or the new Skinnygirl Sweet'arita!

Have you tried these new offerings from Skinnygirl Fresh? Let me know what you think in the comments below and on Twitter @OhHellYes!

Hornitos® Tequila’s mixologist, Christian Sanders of Evelyn Drinkery in NYC, has created a Halloween cocktail that looks as though “blood” is dripping down the sides of the drink. The Instagram-worthy Potion de Muerto will blow your guests’ minds and set the spooky mood for what’s sure to be an epic night. Follow us on Instagram @hornitostequila and share your photo.

The Potion de Muerto is made with Hornitos® Black Barrel®, a super smooth, triple aged, 100% agave tequila uniquely aged to embark distinct and complex whiskey notes.

Potion de Muerto
·         2 parts Hornitos® Black Barrel®
·         ¾ part orange juice
·         ¾ part lemon juice
·         ¾ part chipotle agave *
·         2 dashes orange bitters
·         ½ part beet juice
*Substitute agave nectar for chipotle agave if unavailable.

Preparation: Serve in a tall glass over crushed ice with a beet juice float – the beet juice will slowly float down the glass through the crushed ice, making it look like blood dripping down. Garnish with an orange slice.

Funko Custom: Slay-Ready Buffy

To change Buffy's staking arm position, I boiled a pot of water, turned off the heat, and held Buffy's body under the water for about a minute. When the vinyl softened, I just bent Buffy's arm in the position I wanted using a towel (the plastic is hot). I held the arm in that position until the plastic cooled, about a minute or two. Voila! Slay-ready Buffy!

Keep the Party Alive on Day of the Dead

http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large/2-couple-day-of-the-dead-pristine-cartera-turkus.jpg

Day of the Dead is at the end of the month, and here's a treat and some tricks to help put a twist on the traditional and breathe some life into upcoming Day of the Dead parties:

·         Disguise Guests With Festive Masks - Face painting on this holiday is a powerful symbol to remember the dead. Keep up the Mexican tradition by having guests create their own “calacas,” providing them with the wooden masks and paint they need to get in touch with their festive side.

·         Add a Pop of Color– The spirit of the holiday encourages vibrant creativity from its participants as it represents a joyful afterlife. This year, stay away from the typical orange and black and add a pop of color, such as marigold instead.

·         Get Decadent with Your Dishes- Day of the Dead is not complete without the traditional “tequila” bread. Remaster your must-have “Day of the Bread” recipe by replacing the standard tequila addition with Sauza® 901® for an elegant twist.

·         Serve Frightfully Delicious Cocktails – Tequila is a staple for any Mexican holiday but to add a premium feel to this year’s festivities, incorporate the smooth taste of Sauza® 901® through the below recipe.

Candied Skull
·         2 parts Sauza® 901®
·         1 part fresh grapefruit juice
·         ½ part honey syrup
·         Grapefruit wedge for garnish
Preparation: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice.  Shake well for 10 seconds.  Serve in a martini glass.  Garnish with grapefruit wedge.

A New Chapter

Well, there has been a lot of speculation about my return to television and to Bravo in particular.
Bravo and I have maintained an incredible partnership and relationship over the years, which is something I am very proud of and grateful for. It really is where it all began for me, and you can’t forget where you came from.
After my talk show ended, I really had doubts about ever going back to television. I’ve been through a lot personally, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to expose myself to any more public scrutiny. That said, I’ve been so fortunate to be able to connect with the audience and inspire them to fulfill their wildest dreams. I learned a lot about myself through that experience. I really need to be able to express myself freely and creatively; I like when no two days are the same, and I don’t thrive when being filtered or edited.
I also love the ability to be able to focus on all the many aspects of my life and my business, which a talk show didn’t allow for. Most importantly, I missed being on the journey with you all, who were there with me from the beginning.
When I joined The Real Housewives (originally named Manhattan Moms), I was financially, personally, and professionally insecure. Embarking on that adventure with you and with Bravo changed my life forever.
After many years of hesitation, I have decided to return to my roots on The Real Housewives of New York City. I have been through a long and arduous road since my departure, and I’m finally coming out on the other side. It finally feels right to go home again.
The idea of doing the show feels exciting and refreshing, like it did at the beginning all those years ago. New faces, new circumstances, and in many ways, a new me and a new life.
I am truly coming from “a place of yes,” which is the only way to approach anything in life. This feels like the Eagles “Hell Freezes Over tour,” but never say never.
Thank you for your honesty, for standing by me, laughing and crying with me, supporting me and motivating me.
I can’t wait to see what the road ahead has in store for us.
Watch what happens.
